The Challenge

A private residential client in Battersea required a hedge replacement and landscape improvement service to restore overgrown boundary planting and create a manageable long-term solution.

The existing Pyracantha hedge and invasive Russian Vine had become overgrown, tangled into fencing and encroaching onto a busy pathway, creating both maintenance challenges and safety concerns. The boundary structure also required repair following removal of vegetation.

The Solution

Grass Barbers carried out a full hedge removal and replanting programme, starting with the clearance of Pyracantha and invasive climbing plants using chainsaw and wood-chipping equipment operated by NPTC-trained specialists.

All removed vegetation was processed on-site, with wood chippings retained for composting and future soil improvement, as requested by the client.

Following clearance, the team repaired and reinforced the fence using featheredge boards, creating a stable structure for new planting.

The soil was cultivated and enriched with slow-release fertiliser, before installing a new hedge line consisting of Portuguese Laurel (Prunus lusitanica) and Common Holly (Ilex aquifolium). Additional planting included climbing roses to enhance visual appeal.

The project concluded with thorough watering to support plant establishment.
