The Challenge

A private residential client in Purley required a garden maintenance and lawn improvement service for a sloped garden with poor soil conditions.

The garden suffered from patchy, struggling lawns, largely due to clay-heavy soil and poor nutrient levels. Additional requirements included improving boundary aesthetics following fence works and addressing dry, damaged lawn areas.

The Solution

Grass Barbers carried out a targeted maintenance and improvement visit, beginning with hedge trimming and reduction to restore structure and define boundaries.

Lawn areas were treated using selective weed control and fertiliser application, improving soil conditions and encouraging healthy grass growth. Damaged sections were repaired through aeration, overseeding and feeding, restoring consistency across the lawn.

To enhance the garden visually, the team installed a lavender planting scheme along the fence line, preparing the soil with organic manure to support establishment despite challenging clay conditions.

The project also incorporated sustainable practices, reusing lavender plants sourced from another project to deliver added value to the client.

Final works included weed treatment across hard surfaces and full site clean-up, with all maintenance details recorded for future reference.
