The Challenge

A property management company required urgent garden maintenance for a residential block of flats in Tooting Bec.

The site had become neglected and heavily affected by litter and debris due to its location between two busy roads. Lawns were suffering from moss and thatch build-up, restricting healthy growth, while overgrown hedges near the main entrance were blocking access and creating safety concerns for residents.

The Solution

Grass Barbers carried out a rapid-response grounds maintenance operation, restoring the site within a single visit using professional equipment and structured processes.

The team began with full litter and debris clearance, followed by lawn mowing, shrub shaping and hard surface cleaning. A comprehensive lawn treatment programme was then implemented, including mechanical scarification to remove moss and thatch, generating over 1 tonne of organic waste.

To support lawn recovery, a seasonal mix of grass seed, fertiliser and top dressing was applied, improving soil condition and encouraging healthy regrowth.

Hedges at the main entrance were professionally reduced and reshaped, cutting back approximately one-third of growth in line with local council guidelines to restore safe access and visibility.

All green waste and debris were collected and removed, leaving the site clean and presentable.
