The Challenge
A private residential client in Wimbledon required a garden clearance and redesign service to better connect the interior living space with the outdoor garden.
The garden lacked structure and usability, with overgrown shrubs, compacted soil and declining lawn quality limiting its potential. The client wanted to create a cohesive “outdoor room” feel, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.

The Solution
Grass Barbers carried out a comprehensive garden clearance and improvement programme, starting with the removal of unwanted plants and selective pruning of shrubs and flowers, including deadwood removal.
Soil conditions were improved through decompaction, organic manure application and slow-release fertiliser, supporting both existing and newly introduced planting.
Carefully selected architectural plants were introduced to enhance structure and create a more defined outdoor living space.
Lawn restoration works included precision edging, scarification, aeration and overseeding, improving grass density and overall appearance.
Strategic reduction of overgrown shrubs allowed increased light penetration and improved spatial perception, effectively enlarging the usable garden area.
The Result
Grass Barbers transformed the garden into a cohesive, functional and visually appealing outdoor space, seamlessly connecting it with the home.
The improved planting structure, healthier lawn and enhanced layout created a comfortable “outdoor room” environment, increasing both usability and overall property appeal.
