The Challenge

A private residential client required a garden clearance and improvement service to restore an overgrown and inaccessible outdoor space.

The garden had become heavily overgrown, with blocked access routes including a fire escape alleyway obstructed by weeds and self-seeded trees. Dense hedging, invasive plants such as ivy and bindweed, and lack of maintenance had reduced light, airflow and overall garden functionality.

The Solution

Grass Barbers carried out a full garden clearance and restoration programme, starting with reopening the blocked alleyway by removing weeds and saplings to restore safe access.

The team completed lawn mowing and major hedge reduction, including reshaping a large Leylandii hedge to improve light and airflow. A dense Pyracantha shrub was reduced to ground level, allowing access to remove invasive bindweed at its root.

Ivy was fully removed from fences and surrounding areas, including root extraction to prevent regrowth. Soil was carefully screened to eliminate remaining invasive material.

Lawn improvement works included overseeding and fertiliser application, while planting areas were treated with mulch to suppress weeds and regulate soil conditions.
