Care Home Grounds Maintenance Project in Mitcham CR4, London
Mitcham, CR4
The Challenge
The Alzheimer’s Society required a reliable grounds maintenance service for one of their operational depots in Mitcham.
The site required routine maintenance of lawns, planting areas and hard surfaces, along with control of invasive growth such as ivy and broadleaf weeds. Maintaining a tidy and professional environment was essential for daily operations.
The Solution
Grass Barbers delivered a planned maintenance visit as part of an annual programme, covering all key aspects of grounds care.
The team carried out litter and debris clearance, lawn mowing and edge strimming, ensuring all areas were clean and well-maintained. Shrubs and hedges were trimmed and shaped, while deadheading of flowers improved plant health and appearance.
Invasive ivy was cut back and removed from structures, preventing damage and restoring control of the area. Flower beds were hand weeded, and hard surfaces were treated with targeted herbicide applications.
A NPTC-trained operative applied selective weed control within lawn areas to manage broadleaf weeds such as dandelion and clover.
All works were recorded using digital reporting systems, including before-and-after images, time tracking and detailed visit notes to ensure transparency and continuous service improvement.
The Result
Grass Barbers maintained the site to a clean, safe and professional standard, supporting the operational needs of the organisation.
The combination of consistent maintenance and data-driven reporting ensures high service quality, improved site presentation and ongoing reliability for the client.
