Visitor Attraction Grounds Maintenance Project in Brixton SW9
Project Summary
Description of Work
Grass Barbers commercial grounds maintenance team received a call out to improve and maintain one of youth visitor attraction grounds in Brixton SW9. The site there actually is formed of ornamental lawns, car parks, community planting area and football pitch.
Firstly we had to cut long grass using powerful lawn mowers and grass strimmers, which uncovered plenty of litter and debris and this had to be collected to continue with the mowing. Once we’ve gone through all the grass the clippings were loaded into green waste bags for disposal at environmental centre.
Tree suckers were removed as well, as it actually is a shelter for litter and even weapons. All the vegetation growing through the fence lines was faced back and removed. We swept all pavements and car parkings and this resulted in large amount of leafs mixed with soil, which was blocking drainage systems.
Pavement infesting weeds were sprayed with weed killer to stop them growing through the pavement blocks. We also applied moss killer as moss establishes in artificial grass surfaces at football pitches. Visitor attraction point of interested was converted into a green place ready fo local community annual BBQ week.
