Grass Cutting Project in Mitcham CR4
Project Summary
Description of Work
Mitcham town centre undergoes a multimillion pound regeneration project, where transport systems are changed, new roads and pavements created, beautiful flower displays, meadows and lawns are laid. Rediscover Mitcham and London Borough of Merton Regeneration team gave an opportunity for us to get involved. It was an amazing project for us as it local and important to local community, which is at the heart of all our operations.
This project evolved from small litter picking jobs to a large grass cutting, grounds maintenance and mobile watering projects. Area we maintained was located near one of the busy main roads in Mitcham town centre. During the entire time of the project we collected more than 90 bags of litter, 4 tones of biodegradable green waste, reused rainwater in eco friendly mobile watering process, which was designed to water newly laid lawn turf. Vegetation surrounding the Three Kings Pond in Mitcham is shelter for local fauna including the superstar birds, so our gardeners made sure it was litter free and was in great shape to be safe for public. We came up with efficient, safe and innovative ways to work in extremely active public place. Not even one near-miss report was registered during the whole project time.
