Commercial Grounds Maintenance Project in Islington N7
Project Summary
Description of Work
This annual commercial grounds maintenance project in Islington N7, is a great example of Grass Barbers field teams dedication. Since the day one this contract was focused on one important target, which was to keep site tidy and improve overall look of the grounds. Image of this site was important for property developing and management companies due to its high footprint location. Site is located and built to form part of Emirates stadium, sharing the same entrance as modern football stadium.
During the first evaluation visit, client asked to identify the issues of landscaped areas and come up with strategy to breath new life into the suspended balcony gardens and tired lawns. Our gardeners suggested that weed control, regular grass cutting, ongoing seasonal shrub pruning, new planting schemes and lawn treatment service would improve the site look and health of landscaped areas.
Dedicated team visited site on weekly basis, each time, depending on time of the year, they carefully chosen correct lawnmower height to cut the grass up to standard. In the beginning of the year we created the schedule of areas to be hand weeded, which was carefully followed by our guys on-site and this did make a huge success.. We adapted our service as seasonal changes required and this resulted in shrub pruning and tree maintenance to highest horticultural industry standards. We also supported plants by watering lawns and flower-beds, when forecasted heatwaves were on the way. As part of grounds maintenance tasks our gardeners managed box blight issues of Buxus Sempervirens plants and treated invasion of slugs, to stop damage of newly planted colourful flower displays throughout the site.
Razor sharp gardening secateurs were required to trim spiral topiary near main site entrances to enhance beauty and importance of this urban residential site in North London.
