Forest Hill Business Centre is managed by London Borough of Lewisham Council called us for help with the overgrown site on Clyde Vale Se23. The site is home to 15 business units operating in a variety of industries from food production to door manufacturing. The site was neglected following years without any grounds care contractor being responsible for it. Pyracantha hedges were taller than buildings, brambles and ivy creeping all over the fences, which caused fly-tipping to get out of control.
Grass Barbers commercial grounds maintenance team joined forces with our tree maintenance division and tackled all overgrown and unwanted vegetation. In total, we removed nearly 10 tonnes tones of green biodegradable waste. Our trained chainsaw and wood chipper operatives heavily reduced all overhanging and untidy plants, trees and shrubs. Grounds maintenance team followed the process by clearing all the ivy, weeds, brambles and litter. Hour after hour, day after day, our forces mowed across the site, welcomed by warm smiles of site users and local residents. Vegetation clearance and management was the biggest task of this project.
A large are of overgrown bramble, nettle, ivy and weeds were cleared, soil levelled and cultivated. Gardeners seeded grass to keep the area green and provide users of site with enjoyable outdoor space to relax and recharge.
Once we moved into the outside green space of the side close to busy public pathway, our teams were surprised how much of the fly-tipped waste we collected as it was nearly 2 tonnes of all sorts of domestic waste; bagged, lose and spread across the flower beds and hedges. We loaded all waste to caged tipper van and it was taken to the government approved waste transfer station.
This project was a successful example of Grass Barbers hard working team ability to deliver a large scale site clearance project in professional and cost effective way. Client awarded us with a contract to provide an ongoing grounds maintenance service for the business centre.
