Hedge Replanting Project in Battersea SW11
Project Summary
Description of Work
This hedge replanting project in Battersea SW11 started with initial site evaluation visit. Clients highlighted number of overgrown and untidy hedging areas, which required to be improved to a point where residents could to maintain those hedges themselves thereafter.
Grass Barbers team identified that Pyracantha hedge, growing close to the busy pathway, should be treated with priority and immediately. We started the improvement project by removing Pyracantha plants and Russian Vine, which was tangled into railing fencing and leaning onto pavement.
Grass Barbers NPTC trained chainsaw and wood-chipper operatives were very handy on this project. All chipped materials, as requested by clients, were left on site to be composted and used as fertiliser at later stages. After removing the overgrown hedge we repaired the fence by installing featheredge boards, which was also used as a support for the actual fence.
Careful removal of root material and soil cultivation followed by slow-release root building fertiliser after this procedure we planted 20 Portuguese Laurel (Prunus Lusitanica) and 20 Common Holly (Ilex Aquifolium) plants. Project finished by planting some climbing roses and final watering.
